Civil Wedding Ceremonies, Renewal of Vows, Handfasting Ceremonies and Civil Partnership Ceremonies have enormous emotional and personal significance. They need to be about you and what you want on your special day.

Wedding ceremonies can be held in gardens, on the beach, in a castle, in a tent, or at the zoo. The only limitation is your creativity. You can hold your ceremony in the moonlight, at sunrise or sunset, and on any day of the week.

You can scatter rose petals, release balloons, have a ring ceremony, a hand-fasting ceremony, a unity wine or sand ceremony – there is a wide list to chose from. You can involve the whole family, or just be on your own.

There are no limits with a Civil Wedding Ceremony – dignified, quirky, serious or carnival – everything is planned with you in mind, and elements are added that make the ceremony truly personal and significant for you.

Legal Stuff

A Registrar will not marry you unless in an approved, licensed venue.

There will be limitations on the time, place and length of wedding ceremonies conducted by Registrars. Music, poems, and readings are restricted and you may not get what you want.

This is easily remedied. All you need to do to create the wedding ceremony of your dreams is to separate the legal administration from the main event. You will need to book an appointment with your local Register Office, to complete the legal formalities. This is a quick and reasonably cheap process, requiring two witnesses, and should take no more than 10 minutes.
